What's going on, where it's going on, who's doing it: details on this year's 'Kiwi Shoe Aid for Africa' project.
Have you ever thought about how many kids in Africa have no shoes and have to go to school or even play football barefoot? And, at the same time, about how many perfectly usable shoes are thrown away every day in Europe?
In some areas of Africa, a pair of shoes is not something easily taken for granted − for some people, it’s a luxury. Not owning an adequate pair of shoes can exclude adults from getting around and getting a job − and it can prevent children from being able to attend school.
For many Africans, shoes are among their most treasured possessions and they put enormous effort into caring for them.
To further build on the success of project Malaki , Kiwi is teaming up with Samuel Eto'o, the football superstar and president of the Samuel Eto'o Foundation in Cameroon – to collect and deliver shoes and boots for poverty-stricken children in Africa.
